She did more than teach English literature. She awakened our love for the classics, showed us that great stories mirror real life, and gently reminded us that the truest story of all is the one we live with God at the centre.
On the early morning of 11 February 2026, our beloved Pamela Ruth Tumwebaze was tragically taken from us at her home in Gwafu, Seeta, Mukono. At around 2:00 a.m., a criminal broke into her home and cut short the life of a woman who meant so much to so many.
Pamela, affectionately known as Pam, was a devoted mother to two boys, a daughter, a sister, a mentor, and a cherished friend to many. The news of her passing was devastating for all who knew and loved her. Yet even in her absence, the impact of her life continues to be felt by the countless people she encouraged, supported, and inspired.
Pamela is remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the quiet strength and grace with which she carried herself. Above all, she was deeply grounded in her Christian faith, which shaped the way she lived and related to others.
In a moment that now feels profoundly significant, just one day before her death, on 10 February 2026, Pamela preached during the community hour at Uganda Christian University (UCU). Her message that day was about forgiveness. Looking back, we cannot help but see those words as a message God allowed her to leave with us; a reminder that even in the face of unimaginable pain, we are called to forgive her killers.
This blog has been created to honour Pamela's life and preserve the memory of the remarkable person she was. It is a space where friends, family, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched can share memories, stories, photographs, and reflections. Through these shared memories, we hope to keep her legacy alive and celebrate the many ways she impacted others.
It will also serve as a place where we share verified updates regarding the ongoing search for truth and justice surrounding the circumstances of Pamela's death. Her story matters, and the truth matters.
Pamela's voice may no longer be with us, but her legacy continues through the lives she touched. We invite everyone who knew her to contribute their memories and reflections so that together we can build a living tribute to her life.
As we remember Pamela, we hold on to what she represented: love, dignity, courage, and faith. These are the things that will endure long after the pain of loss.
Pamela will always be remembered. Her life continues to speak through the many lives she touched.
With love and remembrance,
